Lathrop State Park, Colorado campsite

Rushing to finish this overdue blog – we visited Fort Garland, another amazing historical site – the detail was superb, and the costumed interpreters were not only well-versed in the history, but extremely interesting to talk to -on many levels.  Lathrop State Park was one of the best, ever!

I know, it’s September.  I know I’m behind…

We headed from Taos to beautiful Colorado.   I’ll be brief!  We hiked up an amazing and beautiful hill with Stations of the Crosses, life-size and in bronze.  A beautiful meditative site, surrounded by such gorgeous scenery. The artist is Huberto Maestas – the statues are alive with movement. There’s an absolutely beautiful church at the summit, and a walk with Mexican martyrs.
