RV Mirror is where Laura blogs while on the road in a cozy, little Navion 24 J, traveling with her husband, Dick. We’re sorry to say that we’re no longer traveling with Taylor, dear old cat. I think I’ll leave the old “About” here for awhile, while I think of what to write next.
RV Mirror is where Laura blogs while on the road in a Navion 24J motor home, traveling with husband, Dick, and Taylor, the quintessential scaredy cat. There comes a time when it’s hard to leave your pets behind. (I’ve never even considered kenneling Dick.) So this is the way we travel, for months at a time, for now. (Although, a bit of the blog has ocean spray from being on the boat in Maine.)
I’ve always liked keeping diaries – and won’t need a key for this one, since I know I won’t have many readers, or many secrets. There’s going to be a few family members and friends who’ll look in because they’re curious or polite. I love you guys. And an occasional fellow traveler or someone who stumbles in here by accident and is kind enough to leave a comment. That’s so much fun to see. I used to think (because I’m so grateful for what I’ve learned from other blogs) I should try to provide a lot of useful information for others about what we see and where we stay. But, there’s better blogs and books out there. So, I’m just going to try and capture what I can as life whizzes by. For later years (or maybe next week?) when I want to remember all the fun times I’ve had.
Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to the View/Nav family. We got ours last april and had a blast till October. Unit is now in storage, but we are looking forward to the middle of April when he head from Massachusetts to Myrtle, then back, then to the Kentucky Derby the next week!
I have an RV blogsite that you should feel free to reference. It is http://www.greatrvinfo.com. We can cross promote each others blogs.
Do yourself a favor and write down as many emotions and facts you can think of,,,and do it WHILE you are experiencing them as opposed to waiting and trying to remember!
Again, WELCOME. You will love the unit!

Thanks John! I recognize you from the View/Navion Yahoo forum – you’ve had interesting and helpful posts there. I’ll now follow your blogsite too. The April trip sounds great.
That’s good advice about getting the words down as quickly as possible. There’s always the edit function for later!
We’re in frantic final preparations for heading to Dayton on Wednesday and driving off in the unit on Thursday… a long-awaited moment, for sure!
Happy travels to you!

Well—this RV adventure thing is contagious!! I’m excited to report that as of tomorrow morning–Tami and I will be the proud owners of a nicely kept up 1965 Winnebago Holiday—it has just over 258,000 miles—and is in pristine condition. The owners live just down the street from us—and are moving to a retirement comunity and gave us a great deal on it. We’ll be setting off this weekend for our first “road trip” to Elkart Indiana (tami’s releatives) and then a quick stop at Gary before heading home. Can’t wait—maybe we’ll see you guys on the road!!!

Hi Laura:
I’m so glad you ran across my blog by accident. You helped me remember that I am not alone either and yesterday was very hard for me as well. I really need my mom right now (this will be the topic of my next blog). I never realized how much I depended on her and she was always there. Anniversaries are difficult and I hope yesterday wasn’t too painful for you. Thank you for your well wishes. When I have the time, I’d love to read about some of the places you’ve visited. I haven’t been on a true vacation for about 7 years and would love to just get away. I wish you all the best.
Take care and safe travels,
Kathy
Hey You Adventurous globetrotters! Hope Taylor is feeling good and that you guys have a blast!! Will be checking in for some new updates! L&M
You’re such a sweetie pie! I will get back at it soon – I’ll just give you a preview that we ate at the Paula Deen Buffet at Harrah’s in Tunica Mississippi and it was awesome. How we love our food.
Taylor’s digging life and we just picked up a new prescription from a vet in Vicksburg, so his recovery should continue smoothly. Love ya, L, D and T (Okay, what’s L&:M?)
